Summer officially starts in just a few weeks and that means us ladies will be showing off more skin. We’ll have a greater need and desire for smooth skin. We all want our bikini lines, under arms, and legs to be as smooth as a baby’s bottom, but if you’re anything like me you dread having to pull out your razor blade and shaving cream. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few things about shaving I can appreciate. It’s inexpensive, not terribly messy, and I can do it right at home myself without making an appointment. Unfortunately, shaving tends to irritate my sensitive skin causing razor bumps and in grown hairs. Also, shaving doesn’t keep my skin smooth very long. I swear every time I shave my legs, two days later they’re prickly. For these reasons, I’ll be trying three alternatives to shaving in hopes of finding a better solution for longer lasting smooth skin. (more…)

You all don’t get to see The Boy very often because he’s usually behind the camera taking pictures of me. While he may never admit it out loud, I know that he takes great pride in his appearance. One of the many things I love about him is his effortless fashion sense and the secret joy I know he feels when someone compliments his ensemble. Being that I love fashion and value his opinion, I’m always asking him about my own outfits and striking up conversations about the latest trends in men’s fashion. It was during one of these talks that we both agreed the men of 2016 could use a little guidance when getting dressed and I thought who better than to help them out than my super fly honey. (more…)
One of my favorite perks of being a blogger is getting to read other blogger’s work. Deux Bella is an awesome blog by two vivacious women, Melissa and Deynece, that I’m thrilled to introduce all of you to. On Deux Bella you can expect to find all things beauty and fashion. They strive to find fashion that is a great price, quality, customer service, etc. You can also expect to find a variety of things they love and feel bring beauty to their lives. They love everything fitness, organization, travel (since they do so much of it) home decor, budget, marriage and kid related. While that is not the main focus of their blog, those things are still a big part of their lives so they want to share the things they are passionate about. (more…)

I realized last week that the Boy and I have been so busy, we hadn’t had time for a date in probably over a month. Despite all we have going on and the fact that we live together, I still think it’s important for us to date. For me, a date doesn’t have to be super fancy or expensive. Just some uninterrupted quality time, not worrying about the dogs, the house or school work. Even if we’re going to keep it low key, I try to get dressed up for my honey just to keep things fresh. Daily Opulence, a fairly new online boutique, has become one of my favorite go-to’s for affordable and unique accessories. I love shopping the site to find inexpensive pieces to take my simple date night outfits to the next level. They also have nice selections for men and recently began to sell clothing! (more…)
As an avid fashionista style is very important to me. I agree with the infamous Yves Saint Laurent quote that “fashions fade, style is eternal” and in my opinion style is something that is typically different for each person. I also believe there is a difference between fashion and style (we’ll get into that in just a second). One of my closest friends is launching a new company in a few weeks and the theme of the party is “Flashback Friday Juke Jam” and guests are being asked to dress in late 90’s/early 2000’s attire. While I was searching for an appropriate outfit, I started looking back on old fashions and reminiscing how I used to make the trends my own. THIS really got me thinking about how each of us finds our unique style. (more…)
