3 Podcasts Every Millennial Should be Listening To

Maybe I’m a little behind, but it seems like podcasts are all the rage right now. I realize they’ve been around for quite some time, but it seems as though a large number of people I know have started podcasts within the past year or so. For those that are unfamiliar, according to dictionary.com, a podcast is a “digital audio file made available on the internet for downloading to a computer or mobile device, typically available as a series…” Podcasts are great for when you’re stuck in traffic or even at work (assuming you don’t interact with people). I’ve become a regular listener of two college friends’ podcasts and The Boy has one he frequently enjoys. I think these three podcasts are totally worthy of being shared with all of my Royals. 10 Things to Do On a No-Spend Weekend

Does anyone else experience a certain level of fear when they check their bank account on Monday after a weekend of fun? Even when our weekends are full of adult-y things (i.e. paying bills and grocery shopping), I’m nervous to look at our balance come Monday morning. I’m always shocked by how much we spent and yesterday I decided it was time for us to rein it. I pride myself in being fairly budget conscious, but I try really hard to find a balance between knowing where every penny goes and being spontaneous. I think it would help if we start doing no-spend weekends every once in a while. What are those you ask? During a no-spend weekend, we will not spend money eating out or on activities. If we break the rule, I think we should have to put $10 in our savings account. So the next question becomes, if we can’t spend money, what are we going to spend the weekend doing? I’ve come up with 10 things we can do on a no-spend weekend. (more…)

3 Great Valentine’s Day Ideas for Him + Thursday 3 Link Party

Valentine’s Day is just a few days away and if you haven’t made any plans you better keep reading. Valentine’s Day is a holiday usually catered to and centered around women. I’m not sure who made the rules, but somewhere along the way this holiday became men proving/professing their love to their woman while the woman sat back and soaked it all in. Now, I’m all for being spoiled and having The Boy shower me with love, BUT I think it’s unfair that a day reserved for lovers only celebrates the love in one direction. I like to shower The Boy with love and believe it’s important that he also feels special on Valentine’s Day. However, it can be a little tricky finding an activity that’s not too girly. but actually shows love in a way he will perceive as such. This is why I’m sharing 3 great Valentine’s Day ideas for him that your man will love! (more…)

The Best (and Worst) Commercials from Super Bowl 2017

I won’t even lie, I slept through half of Super Bowl LI. My team (the Chiefs) weren’t playing so I wasn’t terribly interested in the game and I’m not really a Lady Gaga fan…so I wasn’t really checking for her performance either. The only reason I even wanted to “watch the super bowl” was for the commercials. Since I ended up taking a nap, I spent Monday morning just watching super bowl commercials I had missed. I must admit, overall I wasn’t all that impressed with the commercials this year. There were a few that were notably better than the rest, and some that were just downright awful. I thought I’d put together a list of what I thought were the best and worst commercials from Super Bowl 2017. (more…)

3 Tips to Make a Day at Home More Productive

Like most millennials, I work all day and then just want to come home and crawl in bed. This leads to a back up of household chores and adulting to be done. Whether it’s the weekend or a much needed day off work, I look forward to any day I get to spend at home and I typically don’t want to spend it being responsible. However, my avoidant behavior does nothing for the laundry climbing the wall, so I try my best to be sure I have productive days when I’m home. My theory is that if I can get everything done, I can sit around and do nothing; so I stick to some guidelines to make my days at home more productive. Since you all are my online besties, I want to share my tips with all of you: (more…)
