Falling in Love with Lucas Park Grille

Last week, I was all over slaying my Valentine’s Day look if I must say so myself. I’m still on cloud nine, but I guess that’s one of the perks of being in love. I’m such a hopeless romantic and I love to revisit the places The Boy and I fell in love. First on that list of places is Lucas Park Grille, where we had our very first date. Our first visit in August of 2011 actually didn’t go all that well as far as perfect first dates go. I vividly remember ordering things neither of us were familiar with and leaving the restaurant hungry. What saved our evening was when one of us brought up the topic of still being hungry and the other breathed a sigh of relief to know they weren’t the only one. The first excuse to binge eat and drink is upon us, Super Bowl 50 is this Sunday! This day also comes just a little bit over a month after we have all made resolutions to be more health conscious, eat better, lose weight, or exercise more. For those of us with these goals, a day of eating hot wings, pizza, drinking beer, and eating cute football decorated cupcakes can really set us back. While we’ve decided not to host a Super Bowl party this year, we will be attending one and I want to be sure there is at least one dish The Boy and I won’t feel guilty about eating. In trying to decide what I should make, I did what any blogger would do, went to my blogging community to ask for help! I was overwhelmed by the response I got from my BLM girls! They suggested so many healthy-ish and delicious looking recipes that I had to share some of them with all of you! (more…)

This year he will celebrate the big dirty 30 and I’ve been preparing since May to be sure his birthday is unforgettable. (more…)

Restaurant Review: Brunch at Brasserie by Niche

Last week a childhood friend who recently moved back to St. Louis hit me up about going to brunch. I’m embarrassed to admit that she’s been back for a few months and I still hadn’t even seen her so when she text me about brunch there was no way I wasn’t going. She asked me to suggest my favorite brunch spot and I realized I didn’t have one. While I anticipate the day I move to a brand new city, I’m guilty of not appreciating the things that make St. Louis great. She took to google and found Brasserie by Niche on several lists of popular brunch places in St. Louis. Being that I’m indecisive, I looked up the menu a few days before and I must admit I wasn’t very impressed or excited, but I was dead wrong. (more…)
