5 Bridal Show Survival Tips to Make the Most of Every Show

Happy Wedding Wednesday Royals! I told you guys last week that I am very slowly climbing aboard the wedding planning train. The good news is the train has left the station! I am committed to documenting my journey and sharing it with all of you. Over the weekend, I attended the Wedding Connection Bridal Show, here in St. Louis. It wasn’t a HUGE show and it was the second I’ve attended since getting engaged, but I tried a few things to make the most of my wedding show experience, and I couldn’t wait to share them with my fellow brides-to-be. Creating the Perfect Royal Court: Bridesmaid Proposals

Since The Boy and I got engaged, there have been three questions on the forefront of everyone’s mind: 1) When is the big day?, 2) How did he ask?, and 3) Have you picked your bridesmaids? I’m not ashamed to admit that I had a list of potential bridesmaids on a note in my phone for AGES…while I may not have always known who my husband would be I had a pretty solid idea of the ladies who would be standing beside me when I said I do. I don’t want to reveal too many spoilers for those of you that haven’t seen it and are planning to watch, but there are a few lessons to be learned from this first season of Insecure. (more…)

The Truth About Rent The Runway

We attended our last wedding of the season over the weekend. While I’ve been honored to shower our newly married friends with gifts and love, I am exhausted. Since late August we have attended five weddings, which required four different dresses (two of the weddings were on the same day). Because they were so close to one another, I didn’t want to wear the same dress more than once, but there was no way in the world I could afford four new dresses AND gifts for each couple. I ended up buying two dresses, wearing one I already owned (but had never worn), and renting one from Rent the Runway. This past weekend’s wedding was black tie optional, so it seemed fitting to sport a more formal look for the occasion. (more…)
