Unless you’re new here, it’s no secret that I am NOT a beauty blogger. I never thought I’d use the phrase low-maintenance to describe myself, but when it comes to my beauty routines I think that’s the perfect way to describe them. Since becoming a blogger, I’ve made an effort to wear makeup at least on the weekends or if I have an event/photoshoot. If I’m being honest 9 times out of 10, I’m rocking my bare face, but that doesn’t mean I’m not using products to put my best face forward. It’s hardly a secret that I live for the weekends. I look forward to sleeping in, spending time with The Boy, and just not being at work. Unfortunately, there are five days known as the work week that stand between me and my little slice of heaven. Thankfully I have The Boy to help me get through, but when he’s away for a few days I find myself riding shot gun on the struggle bus. His latest work trip forced me to come up with a new daily routine to ensure everything and everyone (i.e. our fur babies) were taken care of. I can’t believe there are only two days left in 2016. It seems as though the year FLEW by and we’re all staring 2017 in the face…regardless of if we’re ready or not. As is typical of this time of the year, I’ve started contemplating the things I’d like to accomplish in 2017. A lot of people, myself included, tend to make over zealous New Year’s resolutions that they work on for several weeks and then forget all about. This year I’m going to use something I learned in graduate school to hopefully create goals for 2017 that I actually complete. (more…)
Undergraduate and graduate students are breathing a sigh of relief as they enjoy the fact that their finals are either behind them or will be by the end of the week. Most are now staring a few well deserved weeks of winter break in the face and may be a little overwhelmed with their new found freedom. Many may be tempted to spend their entire winter break catching up from the numerous all nighters school forced them to pull. The problem with that is that your break is temporary and you will eventually have to return back to the struggle that is higher learning.
