The only thing I think I love as much as I do clothes/shopping is eating. Whether it’s a restaurant or a recipe from pinterest, if the rest of the world is feeling it, I more than likely willing to try it. I particularly love trying new restaurants and sharing them with all of you. When my girls hit me up about going to brunch at Cielo, a rooftop restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, I was all in! (more…)
For all those that don’t know, I’m a self proclaimed foodie. I literally LOVE to try new restaurants and food is truly the way to my heart. Truth be told, it crosses my mind all the time to share new restaurants I visit or recipes we try, but I’m always so excited to eat that I forget to take pictures throughout the process and we all know that just won’t work for a blog post. Thanks to my girls, I remembered to snap a few pictures while trying a new restaurant this past weekend. We went to Seafood by Crushed Velvet in Belleville, IL, approximately 30 minutes away from St. Louis. I literally couldn’t wait to get home to write a formal review about this restaurant! (more…)
Last week, I was all over slaying my Valentine’s Day look if I must say so myself. I’m still on cloud nine, but I guess that’s one of the perks of being in love. I’m such a hopeless romantic and I love to revisit the places The Boy and I fell in love. First on that list of places is Lucas Park Grille, where we had our very first date. Our first visit in August of 2011 actually didn’t go all that well as far as perfect first dates go. I vividly remember ordering things neither of us were familiar with and leaving the restaurant hungry. What saved our evening was when one of us brought up the topic of still being hungry and the other breathed a sigh of relief to know they weren’t the only one. So I guess you all are trying to figure out why in the world we would return to a place that left us disappointed and hungry. (more…)
Over the weekend I had the pleasure of seeing a friend’s handwork and dreams come to reality. For as long as I’ve known the owner Danielle she has baked delectable goodies from her own kitchen and then went the extra mile to ensure her treats made it to her customers. Contrary Cupcakes, a family owned and operated bakery just south of the Tower Grove neighborhood in St. Louis, MO, is officially open for business. Located at 4904 Devonshire Ave., you can’t miss the adorable sign sporting the business’s logo. While I by no means would classify myself as having a sweet tooth, I rarely pass up an opportunity for Contrary Cupcakes. (more…)

Guess what Royals!?! I made it out of the house this past weekend and was actually dressed, makeup and everything! After surviving a long first week back to school, I decided I deserved a little reward. An invitation from one of my dearest friends to try a local sushi spot, Cafe Mochi, followed by going to a bar I’d never been to fit the bill for the perfect girls night out. Cafe Mochi is located on South Grand between Arsenal and Chippewa, where all of the other restaurants in this area are. It has a VERY small parking lot, but if you’re lucky you can find a spot on Grand or the residential street just beside the restaurant. Cafe Mochi itself is super cute, intimate, and an awesome neighborhood find. While I will always be a Drunken Fish girl at heart, I can’t deny that Cafe Mochi has some pretty tasty sushi. Additionally, their prices for sushi are pretty on par with Drunken Fish, but the drinks do seem to be a little cheaper. Cafe Mochi definitely makes for an awesome meal when you’re craving sushi and don’t want to venture far from home. (more…)
